Good Samaritan Church Art Sale

Dates: Friday, March 16 to Monday, March 19, 2018

General Requirements:

  1. Only Full DVAL members may participate.  Participation may be limited to 50 artists.

  2. All work must be original and be for sale.

  3. Participating Artists are required to volunteer to work during the sale. Volunteer work could range from helping with setup/takedown, helping with beverages, or supporting sales during the event.

  4. Each individual piece of art will have an attached typewritten label including the name of the artist, the name of the work, the medium and the price of the work.

  5. Liability for damage or loss of artwork is not provided by the Good Samaritan Church or DVAL. 

  6. Panel Display: Participating artists will have two adjacent panel sides, each approximately 3’ by 6, or a total of 6’ by 6’ to display their work. Artists will hang their work on the panels and will provide their own typewritten labels. Handwritten labels will NOT be accepted.

  7. Wall Display: Participating artists may opt to provide up to three large framed pieces of art for hanging on available wall space. Wall display art is hung by DVAL volunteers. The number of artists participating in Wall Display may be limited by available space.

  8. Portfolio Display: Participating artists may opt to bring a portfolio stand and include up to 15 pieces of art for their portfolio. All portfolio work must be original, properly matted and sealed and have typewritten labels.

  9. Artists must submit inventory lists for their artwork. Separate lists must be provided for artwork on the panels, wall hanging art and artwork in a portfolio bin.

  10. Participating artists must submit biographies for the show binder and will have the opportunity to have their own PR information by their panels.

  11. Participating artists may provide their own panels for display of art. Artists who provide one two-sided panel will have the panel rental fee waived. Artists who provide more than one two-sided panel will be reimbursed $6 by DVAL for each additional panel provided. An artist’s work will not necessarily be displayed on the panels they provide.

  12. DVAL will retain a 20% commission of the sales price for all art that is sold during the show. A portion of this will be donated to a Good Samaritan Charity.

Entry Fees:     

There is a registration fee of $35.00 plus a $6.00 charge for renting the panels. (The $6 panel rental fee is waived if the artist provides one two-sided 3’ by 6’ panel for use during the show). There is a $5 fee for providing large framed art for wall hanging. There is no charge for providing portfolio art. Checks should be made out to DVAL or the fee is payable on the DVAL website via PayPal or credit card.
