This is a juried show with an entry fee of $20.00 to be paid at the time of delivery.  Make Checks payable to DVAL (cash also accepted). This fee will not be refunded if work is declined.

Juror: John Baker 

John Baker received his BA in Art from West Chester University and his MFA from the University of Delaware. He had taught for 41 years in the Department of Art + Design, WCU, charring the department for 20 years. His work has been exhibited in numerous private, museum and corporate collections including over 200 international, national and regional exhibitions. He continues to serve on several art boards, commissions, and a University Foundation Trustee.

 

His studio practice includes a mixed-media approach on canvas and board influenced and informed through his travel from around the world. He also creates functional ceramic vessels continuing to investigate the bowl form.

Prizes will be awarded.

October 5, 2022- 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. - Delivery of paintings at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. Paintings are juried on site at day of drop off.  Be sure to have your phone number on your slips so that you can be contacted if paintings are declined. Blank slips are available to print by clicking here to download a pdf of the DVAL labels.

October 5, 2022 - 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Pick up of declined work. Artists will be notified by phone if their work is declined. Declined works will be picked up on the same day at the Knauer Performing Arts Center.

October 12, 2022 - 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Reception - The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center will hold an Artists Perspective Night (Reception) in the Max Foxhole Bar and Lounge located at the Center.  Artists and their patrons are encouraged to attend the reception and should make announcements on social media.

January 4, 2023 - 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Pick up unsold paintings - All paintings that are not sold will be picked up at the Knauer Performing Arts Center.

Exhibition Requirements:  Exhibition is open to Full members only.  DVAL reserves the right to exclude work that does not meet Official DVAL Policies and Procedures.  A limited number of entrees will be accepted.  All work must have two identification labels filled out, one is to be attached to the upper back left hand corner at delivery. These slips need to have a contact number on them.  Painting size should be 16” x20”  (that size includes the frame).  Larger works will not be juried. Please refer to the DVAL webpage Submission guidelines for more information on exhibition requirements.

Sales Arrangement: Buyers will pay the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center who will retain a 20% commission on sales.  Checks to artists will come from the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center.

Liability: All works will be handled with care, however the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center and/or DVAL will not be liable for damage or loss.  Artists will acknowledge having read the DVAL disclaimer by signing in when you deliver your painting(s).
